Highlights of previous seasons included appearances with Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin playing Shostakovich Concerto Nr. 2, and Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga playing Prokofiev Sinfonia Concertante. This season also sees him playing with Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and working as a Guest Principal Cellist with Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist he has performed with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Armenian National Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Norddeutsche Philharmonie, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, Orquesta Sinfonica Freixenet, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian Chamber Orchestra. Ruslan played in such concert halls as Concertgebouw hall in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Berliner Philharmonie, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Theater Diligentia Den Haag, Berwaldhallen in Stochholm, Mariinsky hall in St. Petersburg.
Ruslan Vilensky was a representative of the Republic of Latvia at the „Eurovision Young Musicians Competition” in Berlin. He is prizewinner of international competitions such as A. Khachaturyan, K. Davidov, D. Popper, Concertino Praga. He has been awarded with scholarships and bursaries from different international organizations: The Holland Music Sessions (Holland), Acanthes (France), Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now (Germany), Lions Club Frankfurt (Germany), Ernst Schering Foundation (Germany), Valsts Kulturkapitala Fonds (Latvia).
Among his chamber music partners are worldwide acclaimed artists such as David Geringas, Silvia Markovici, Harthmut Rohde, Paul Rivinius, Matthias Kirschnereit, Ulf Hoelscher, Paul Rozenthal, Arvids Klishans, Isabel Charisius and others. He also collaborated with early music specialists Reinhard Goebels and Giovanni Antonini, performing Bach and Haendel. He has performed at many festivals including Acanthes Festival in France, Pazaislis Festival in Lithuania, Santander Festival in Spain, Mstislav Rostropovich Cello Festival, Beauvais festival in France, The Holland Music Sessions.

Ruslan Vilensky is born 1985 in Latvia. He has been attached to the Jurmala Music College where he had several teachers, the most recent being Prof. Eleonora Testelec. From October 2003-2009 he was studying at “Hanns Eisler” Academy of Music in Berlin with world renowned Professor David Geringas, and now continuous his studies with Prof. Troels Svane. He took part in masterclasses with Janos Starker, Frans Helmerson, Antonio Meneses, Pavel Gililov, Natalia Shakhovskaya, Walter Grimmer, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Dmitri Fertshman, Harro Ruijsenaars, Zakhar Bron, Dietmund Poppen, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Georg Faust (Berliner Philharmoniker), Olaf Maninger (Berliner Philharmoniker), Laszlo Fenyo.
